[From "Kovacs Corner" on YouTube.com] – Steve was the original host of the “Tonight Show” from 1954 to 1957. By 1956, he was given a prime-time network slot on Sunday evening. With such a schedule, NBC decided to bring in Ernie Kovacs as the host on Mondays and Tuesdays to give Steve some relief. Here is an example of Steverino’s self described “Crazy Shots”, which appear suspiciously Kovacsian in style and execution.

My first ever stand up comedy performance in front of 400 people at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar as part of an Open Mic Night by TEDx Doha. And this was all judged by world famous comedian Ahmed Ahmed in the end i got selected for the finals along with 4 other comedians.

www.levantinecenter.org This is part 6 of a program presented by the Iranian American Bar Association and Levantine Cultural Center in Los Angeles. “Dismantlng the Axis of Evil” includes a brief review of roles in film and television, followed by a spirited discussion, and questions from the audience. Panelists include Ahmed Ahmed, comedian and actor, Reza Aslan, author of “No god, but God” and “How to Win a Cosmic War”; John Tehranian, attorney and author of “Whitewashed: America’s Invisible Middle Eastern Minority”; Maz Jobrani, actor and comedian (“Brown & Friendly Comedy Tour”, “Axis of Evil Comedy Tour”; “The Interpreter”); and Shiva Rose, actress (“David & Layla,” “CSI Miami”), activist and playwright. In an event held at the beginning of this year entitled Arabs and Muslims in Hollywood, Levantine Cultural Center along with the Muslim Public Affairs Council and the Screen Actors Guild, brought together a star-studded panel of actors and directors to examine the portrait of Middle Easterners in Hollywood and the themes of terrorism and religious extremism that often follow. Participants included casting director April Webster (“Lost,” “Criminal Minds,” “24″), Oscar-nominee and Emmy-winner Shohreh Aghdashloo, Omar Metwally (“Munich”), Raya Meddine (“Bosta,” “The Young and the Restless”) and Maz Jobrani (“The Interpreter”, “Homebody Kabul”).
